Sources telling:
Mr.Bill Gates, founder of MS, is giving up day-to-day resposibilities of Microsoft. He announced this news to media on last Thursday (June15, 2006).
Have a look at the following link:
(http://news.com.com/2100-1001-235639.html) tells that: In a surprise announcement, Bill Gates said today that he will step down as Microsoft chief executive and hand over the reins to longtime friend and company president Steve Ballmer.
Mr. Steve Ballmer, CEO of MS said that Mr.Gates would remain the Chairman after transferring his daily responsibilities over a two year period.
"Mr.Gates said that he was stepping away from one of the best jobs in the world".
Mr.Gates is going to concentrate more on his "The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation", which concentrate on fighting against HIV, Malayria and Tuberculosis.
Mr. Ozzie will immediately assume Gate's title "Chief Software Architect" and begin working with Gates on overseeing all software technical design.
The present Chief Training Officer Mr.Craig Mundie will get new title as "Chief Research & Strategy officer" and will work with Gates in those areas.
MS on Tough Time:
Already MS is running under it's tough time since it is struggling to compete with Google Inc., and Yahoo Inc.,
Recently Microsoft said it was delaying the new version of its new Windows OS yet again.
Gates's reply to it: "There isn't any time in our time in our history when there haven't been questions about Microsoft."
We have to see the steps that MS is going to take hereafter closely.
I hope already MS beats Java in last decade. Its not the first time that the MS is facing such problems. But, its the first time that MS is going to fight against its competitors with minimal help of Mr.Gates. (Just guidance and assistance).
Not only windows programmers but all the programmers in the world started to look about this competition closely.
