We shall discuss about the different documents we need to capture in the different phases of the project in this space. The documents are the nueral kind for the projects indeed. They are palying more important role in the project phase. The communication channel requires the documents as their backbone. Many and more decisions are taking place based on the project documents.
As a project manager and leaders, we all know that a project has so many phases in their life cycle. Such as:
(a) Planning Phase
(b) Analysis Phase
(c) Design Phase
(d) Construct or Coding Phase
(e) Test Phase
(f) Implementation Phase
In all these phases, we are having some documents to help the management to operate the project smoothly.
(a) Planing Phase:
This is the initial phase for any project. This will provide the clear idea about the project to the participants of the project. We shall complete the following list of documents in this phase of the project.
Project Definition Document,
Project Schedule Document, and
Project Management Procedures Document.
(b) Analysis Phase:
This is the phase in which we shall analyse the work we are going to deal with. We shall prepare the following list of documents in the Analysis phase.
Business Requirement Report Document,
Communication Plan Document,
Conceptual Systems Design Document,
Training Strategy Document,
Business Requirement Report Document,
Requirements Review Checklist Document,
Testing Strategy Document,
Data Conversion Strategy Document,
Implementation Strategy Document,
Acceptance Criteria Document,
Risk Assesment Document, and
Security Document.
(c) Design Phase:
We shall design the architecture of the project in this phase. This phase will consist the following documents:
Technical Design of the project Document,
Training plan Document,
Testing Document, and
Implementation Document.
(d) Construct or Coding Phase:
We shall produce the project in this phase. It will consist of the following documents:
Application Maintenance Manual Document,
Users Manual Document,
Disaster Recovery Manual Document, and
Service Level Agreement (SLA) Document
(e) Test Phase:
We shall produce the following documents during the test phase.
Test Script Document,
Test Case Validation Document, and
Test Error Log Document.
(f) Implementation Phase:
We shall produce the following documents during the implementation phase.
Production move approval Document, and
Support Document.
